Management

I was lucky enough to have been able to work for the Erasmus Museum in Brussels at a reasonably young age and to stay there for eighteen years. This companionship with the great humanist permeated the way I understood the direction of an institution. Anchored in his time, Erasmus helped me to work in heritage places by not only looking at the past. Heritage, research, and contemporary art go hand in hand. I conceive human relations primarily from the angle of dialogue. Cultural institutions are places of exchange that allow visitors, readers, researchers, to realize themselves, in the highest sense, by rubbing shoulders with others and with works from the past and present.
